Professional CPR/AED – American Heart Association
The BLS Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It’s intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. For certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.
Layperson CPR/AED – American Heart Association
Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.
First Aid with CPR/AED – American Heart Association
Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
Pet First Aid & Disaster Response – Emergency Care & Safety Institute
The Pet First Aid & Disaster Response Guide is designed to help pet owners provide temporary, urgent care to pets until they can reach a veterinary or emergency clinic. This course will teach owners to care for their animals before, during, and after an emergency. This course includes: injury prevention and disaster preparation, personal safety precautions to identify and minimize risks, and a wide array of emergencies including medical and trauma conditions.
Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) – VFIS
Driving an emergency vehicle is a position of responsibility. The responsibilities of, and the penalties for, not properly training your emergency and non-emergency vehicle operators is tremendous. Civil, criminal, and punitive damages and charges are involved in a crash that injures or kills one of your staff members, a patient, or a civilian vehicle operator/pedestrian. This internationally-known course is highly recommended by several states, regional, and local emergency service entities.
Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogens – American Heart Association/PA Department of Health
Over five million workers in health care related fields are at risk to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, such as the HIV virus and hepatitis B virus. Designed to meet the current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training requirements, Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens is designed to teach students and employees how to prepare for potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens also includes supplemental information on airborne pathogens, such as tuberculosis, and other unusual infectious diseases.
